AWANA
AWANA has been around for over 50 years, but we can guarantee that it is not so old that your young children would not want to be a part of it. You may be asking yourself, “What is AWANA and how can it benefit my child?” We're glad you asked. Please read on and see the benefits of this great program.
Each AWANA night consists of three main activities: (1) handbook time; (2) council time; and (3) game time. Handbook time is an opportunity for children to learn various Bible verses; council time is an opportunity for the children to hear a challenging Bible story from one of the leaders; and the game time is an opportunity for them to unleash their energy in some fun & friendly competition.
What is the age for AWANA? We have a club for children ages 4 years old through the sixth grade.
What does my child need to bring? A smile and readiness to have a great time are the only requirements for the first night. After the first night, any materials earned and purchased will be needed for each attendance.
What are the times? The club begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 8:00 p.m.
Are there any activities for the adults? Yes!! Parents and/or guardians are welcome to be part of our club night or attend the Woodland Bible Church Bible study which begins in Room 2 at 6:30p.m. This is a very informative, pertinent and helpful Bible study for anyone.
Is this a safe place for my child to attend? For years, WBC has had children’s ministries and has put a premium on doing things “by the book.” We implement a safe environment in three ways: (1) background checks are done on every leader; (2) children are under direct supervision at all times; and (3) children are only released to authorized adults with a picture I.D.
Our AWANA clubs run from September - April. Clubs do not meet during June, July & August.
